Disaster management officials in Visayas and Mindanao were placed on blue alert Monday due to the threat of flash floods and landslides from a low-pressure area (LPA).
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said this means at least half of their personnel should be at their stations at any time, radio dzBB reported Monday.
NDRRMC head Benito Ramos was quoted in the report as saying the personnel on duty should coordinate efforts to ensure zero casualty.
The NDRRMC particularly placed on alert Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Regions 10 and 11, the report said.
State weather forecasters earlier said the LPA threatened to bring rain that may cause flash floods and landslides in parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
