Will anyone win the May 5, 2012 Powerball jackpot? 2012 Powerball Winners
It's only the beginning of May, but it's been a busy year so far for Powerball jackpot winners. This is the third drawing since a Pennsylvania Powerball winner won the $172,700,000 jackpot on April 25, 2012. Since then, the grand prize has grown by another $20,000,000.
Rhode Island Powerball winner Louise White started off the 2012 winning streak in February by scoring a record $336,400,000 prize. New York Powerball winner Tara Ramirez followed suit by winning $70,000,000 less than two weeks later. Two Powerball winners in March—New Jersey Powerball winners Joseph and Celeste Tamburello won $70,000,000, and Rhode Island Powerball winner Kathleen Last won $60,000,000—didn't break the streak. Lewiston, Idaho Powerball Winner Wins $1,000,000
Richard and Lorraine Hallisy of Lewiston, Idaho, claimed $1,000,000 Thursday at Idaho Lottery headquarters in Boise. The Hallisy's are the first million dollar Idaho Lottery winners this year.
The married couple of 56 years were so stunned, they thought it was an Internet joke. Richard told Idaho Lottery officials it took almost two weeks to finally claim the winning Powerball ticket. "Oh we saw stories about it in the newspaper and on the television, but we had a few things to take care of before heading down to Boise," Richard said.
When asked what they plan to do with their $1,000,000 prize winnings, Richard and Lorraine said after helping family, they wanted to take a few vacations. Who wouldn't want an extra vacation? The Hallisy's matched five out of six Powerball winning numbers, but not the Powerball number for the April 21st drawing. They purchased their lucky Powerball ticket at Zip Trip, 99 Southway Ave., Lewiston, Idaho.

The most recent Powerball results for the Wednesday, May 2, 2012 drawing, were 7, 8, 33, 38, 50, and the Powerball number was 29. There were no Powerball jackpot winners for this drawing.
