Lawyer Jessica Lucila "Gigi" Reyes on Friday asked the court to allow her to be transferred to a tertiary hospital after she suffered a panic attack after she was detained at the female dormitory of the Bicutan jail in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.
In an urgent motion to be transferred to and confined at a tertiary hospital filed before the Sandiganbayan Third Division, Reyes asked that she be transferred to either Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City or the Sta. Ana Hospital in New Panaderos Street in Sta. Ana, Manila.
Reyes, the former chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, is facing plunder and graft charges as one of Enrile's co-accused in the alleged pork barrel fund scam.
She was absent during her scheduled arraignment on Friday after the doctors didn't give her clearance to leave the hospital.
A tertiary hospital has “appropriate administrative, clinical and nursing services, and it has an accredited training program for physicians, nurses or medical technologists,” according to Department of Health regulations.
