Eight suspects in selling durian and mangosteen candies that downed nearly 2,000 people, including young students, will be facing charges in connection with the poisoning, a television report said Monday.
A report on GMA News' Unang Balita said the suspects will undergo inquest proceedings on Monday.
Six other suspects remain at large, the report quoted Surigao del Sur police provincial director Narciso Balisi Verdadero as saying.
Investigation is also still ongoing, as hospitals across Caraga region remain on white alert.
The Unang Balita report quoted one of the suspects, Henrito Bitko, as saying they only sold the candies for their school expenses.
