A BARANGAY councilor and his son were arrested by police during a raid against an illegal numbers game in Barangay Balisong, Argao last Friday night.
Confiscated from Allan Gelbolingo, 52, and his son Shane Brian, 31, were a fax machine and assorted gambling paraphernalia, such as tip sheets, used in masiao.
Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, head of Argao Police Station, said the operation was made on the strength of a search warrant against Gelbolingo, an alleged masiao coordinator.
Argao policemen, led by Batobalonos, went to the barangay councilor’s house at past 10 p.m. Gelbolingo was inside the house sitting while Shane Brian was sending documents through a fax machine.
During their search, the police team found the machine, paraphernalia and P2,221 believed to be proceeds from illegal gambling.
When interrogated by police, Gelbolingo admitted they are engaged in running masiao. “Wa kuno silay laing pangita,” Batobalonos said.
