MANILA – Apl.de.ap shared that former Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger was “very happy” to learn about the history of the Philippines during her latest visit to the country.
Scherzinger, whose father is a Filipino, was recently in the Philippines as part of an awareness campaign led by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
During her visit, she and apl.de.ap went around Intramuros in Manila with celebrity tour guide Carlos Celdran.
According to “The Voice of the Philippines” coach, Scherzinger got in touch with him while she was still in the United States, asking him to show her around in Manila.
“She actually texted me when she was on her way. She was like, ‘I’m going to be there. Can you show me around and can we hang out?’ I took her to Intramuros. My friend, she gave me the idea of taking her there and learn about our history. Even I was learning about our history,” he said.
Since both of them have Filipino roots, apl.de.ap and Scherzinger have been friends for quite a while now.
