PRESIDENT Benigno S.C. Aquino III has accepted the resignation of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairperson Margarita P. Juico, citing personal reasons.
Secretary Herminio B. Coloma Jr., of the Presidential Communication Operations Office yesterday said Mr. Aquino extended his gratitude to the now former PCSO chairperson for her service to the government.
“President Aquino thanks outgoing PCSO chairperson Margarita Juico for her dedicated service to the government and the Filipino people. She also served with President Corazon Aquino all throughout her presidency then went on to serve in the PCSO board in the succeeding administrations,” Mr. Coloma said.
“As an esteemed family friend, President Aquino wishes her well on her decision to end her stint in public service,” he added.
Ms. Juico had served the administration of Mr. Aquino’s mother as Appointments Secretary.
Mr. Coloma noted that her resignation would take effect “upon formal written acceptance by the President in accordance with established procedures.”
He said Ms. Juico is leaving the government for “personal reasons” and did not elaborate.
