There will be no jamming of mobile phone signals at the Batasan Complex area in Quezon City on Monday when President Benigno Aquino III delivers his State of the Nation Address, the Philippine National Police said.
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said the matter was not even brought up in the Metro Manila police's preparations for the SONA, radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. reported early Friday.
Cerbo said there has so far been no intelligence information about any threat to Aquino or the public during the SONA on Monday.
Last January, the government asked telecommunications firms to help thwart a supposed terror attack by cutting off or disrupting signals in Manila's Quiapo area.
