MANILA, Philippines — More or less 1.6 million punters failed Monday to bag Grand Lotto 6/55's P80 million jackpot, thus, Wednesday's bonanza is projected from P86 million to P90 million, depending on the sales of tickets.

Figures from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) showed that 6/55 generated retail receipts amounting to P32,227,020 for the April 23 draw.

The amount translates to more than 1.6 million bettors.

Average lotto sales, particularly for 6/55 is at P25 million per draw, but it increases as the jackpot grows bigger and bigger.

PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II said none of the bettors got the winning combination 13-08-49-44-20-22 which carried the P80,538,148.80 pot.

On the other hand, nine bettors each won P150,000 for getting five numbers of the winning combination.

Arnel Casas, manager of the Central Operations Department (PCSO-COD), said a lotto frenzy was starting to pick, but not so much yet as the 6/55 has not yet broken the century mark.

"Let us see once the Grand Lotto jackpot breaks the R100-million mark," he said.

For every peso bet, PCSO allocates 55 percent for a tax-free Prize Fund, 30 percent for Charity Fund, and 15 percent for its Operating Fund.

So far, the State charity agency has produced only three lotto millionaires for April, who won P29 million, P17 million, and P23 million.
