VICTORIAVILLE, QUE. - A unidentified woman from Victoriaville won the top prize of $50 million in Friday's Lotto Max.

"It's a regular customer," said Nathalie Lallier, manager of the Shell station where the woman bought her ticket.

The big winner, a mother in her 40s who lives in Victoriaville, northeast of Montreal, is not a regular lottery player, Lallier said.

The identity of Canada's newest multimillionaire had not been revealed by Monday afternoon as she has not come forward to claim her prize.

But the woman did validate her winning ticket Saturday morning at the Shell station.

"I was surprised," said Marie-Pascale Rheault, the station's assistant manager.

"She knew she had won, but she needed to have confirmation. She was in shock. When I heard the special song (from the lottery machine), I understood."
