SOMEONE in Rushmoor is sitting on a winning lottery ticket but does not appear to know it.

A Lotto prize of £69,347 has been left unclaimed from a draw last month, and National Lottery has revealed the winning ticket belongs to someone in the Aldershot and Farnborough area.

The lottery provider said it is currently hunting for the successful player,, and has encouraged Lotto players to 'check and double-check' tickets.

The ticket matched five numbers, and the bonus ball, in the Wednesday, May 30 draw. The winning numbers were 7, 14, 25, 33, 45, 48, and the bonus ball was 11.

The forgetful Rushmoor resident who has yet to cash their ticket has until Monday, November 26 to step forward.

If no-one claims the prize before 5.30pm on that date, the £69,347, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to the National Lottery Good Causes.

A spokesman for National Lottery said: “We are desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings.

“This amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We are urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa - someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune.

National Lottery has tried to jog the Rushmoor winner's memory.

It pointed out Fun were top of the UK singles chart at the time, and Emeli Sande topped the album charts.

The Lotto draw also fell midway between England's two Euro 2012 warm up friendlies, against Norway and Belgium.

“We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win,” added the spokesman.
