TORONTO — The $50-million jackpot in Friday’s Lotto Max draw has finally been won after going unclaimed for the previous three weekly draws.

The winning ticket was sold in Quebec, though exactly where has not yet been revealed.

Despite the 1 in 28,633,528 odds, one ticket holder matched all seven numbers Friday. Another three matched six numbers and the bonus.

Fifty MaxMillions prizes of $1-million were up for grabs in last night’s draw, and there are winning tickets for 17 of those prizes.

Nine were sold in Ontario, three in Quebec, and the rest in the four western provinces.

“Everybody wants Lotto Max,” said Michael Lee at International News in Vancouver told Postmedia News.

“We’re getting an extra $500 or $600 in sales every day.”

“I’m so excited that I’m doubling up,” said one anonymous buyer purchasing tickets for an office pool ahead of the draw.

“If it wasn’t the $50-million, I’d only spend $20 — so I’ll buy $40 worth for our group.”

The $100-million in total prize money in Friday’s draw was the most since Lotto Max was launched in 2009.

Next to Friday’s draw, the biggest jackpot pool came in June 2010, when the total reached $99-million ($50-million in the Lotto Max draw with 49 Maxmillion prizes).
