No tsunami warning after magnitude 6 quake
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) will not issue a tsunami warning after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake jolted Candelaria, Zambales at 6:18 Sunday morning.
John Paul Pallarmo of Phivolcs told DZMM TeleRadyo that there is no threat of a tsunami to the Philippines after the earthquake, which was felt in different parts of Luzon.
According to Gracela Macabiri, head of the Zambales Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), there were no damages reported even as the province felt the strong quake.
National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Benito Ramos earlier said that there were no damages caused by the earthquake.
